Lisa MurkowskiWarm Welcome in NomeFourth Quarter 2003
U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski personally donated $2,500 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nome during her trip to western Alaska in December. Senator Murkowski, a former Board member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southcentral Alaska and club parent said the donation was meant to improve the Club in ways decided by the members themselves. Senator Murkowski dropped by to visit with Club members and staff. The Nautat Keystone Club, the teen leadership group, created a large banner welcoming the Senator. Senator Murkowski signed autographs and answered questions from Club members about her personal and professional life. Many of those same members rushed the Senator for hugs as she left to catch her flight out of Nome. |
