July 1st was a day of excitement and civic education for 40 Club members as they participated in Mayor Begich’s inauguration. Members greeted inaugural attendees and acted as program ushers. As a former Board member, Mayor Begich extended this special invitation to demonstrate his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of Anchorage youth. Mayor Begich - this month’s Club Champion - served on the Board of Directors from 1998 until 2003. Most recently he served as Vice Chair of Statewide Expansion. He also served as Vice Chair of Property Management and was instrumental in seeing the Mountain View Community Center and Boys & Girls Club to fruition. Thanks to Mayor Begich for his service to the Club and Alaska’s kids!
