Ted Stevens draws from his experience as a husband and father when making tough policy decisions that impact America’s youth. As a graduate of UCLA and Harvard Law School, Senator Stevens recognizes the importance of setting kids on the right path, giving them a solid education, and putting safeguards in place to help them develop to their full potential. These values are at the core of his support for the Boys & Girls Club movement.
Through his chairmanship of the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Stevens has contributed to the successful network of some 3,400 Clubs, touching the lives of more than four million young people annual through memberships, collaborations and community outreach programs. Although he closes his service as chairman this year, his legacy of steadfast support for empowered communities, evidenced-based prevention programs, and meaningful opportunities for youth, will resonate.
